Dermapen Microneedling

Microneedling—also known as Collagen Induction Therapy—is a treatment that uses fine, medical-grade needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process stimulates cellular turnover and prompts the production of new collagen and elastin, improving skin structure, tone, and texture.

This depends on the condition being treated.
 – Mild concerns (texture, fine lines, pigmentation): 3–4 treatments
 – Deeper concerns (acne scarring, stretch marks, photoageing): 6+ treatments
 Sessions are usually spaced 2–8 weeks apart. Your therapist will create a plan based on your goals, skin condition, and response to treatment.

You may feel mild discomfort during the treatment, but it’s generally well tolerated. We use techniques and protocols to ensure you’re comfortable throughout, and any sensation typically subsides quickly post-treatment.

We can dermapen on active breakouts. It actually helps to oxygenate the skin. The use of cliniprep before and after treatment prevents the spread of bacteria. We would also recommend the suitable homecare to assist the skin with healing and inflammation

We do offer home rollers at the spa so this might seem like we don’t recommend them. Maybe we word it like they are mainly used for product infusion and not collagen stimulation. It is advised to use home rollers that are professionally recommended as you need to be sure of the quality and make of it as there are some rollers out there that will definitely do more damage than good. Main difference is the depth in which they penetrate.

Yes — Dermapen is safe and effective for all Fitzpatrick skin types. Because it doesn’t rely on heat or light, it carries less risk of pigmentation issues than some other resurfacing treatments. Each protocol is customised to your skin condition and goals.

For the first 24–48 hours post-treatment, avoid:

– Active skincare (vitamin A, acids, exfoliants)

– Makeup and heavy sunscreen

– Intense exercise or heat (saunas, hot yoga, etc.)

– Sun exposure

– Touching or picking the skin
– Fake tan

Microneedling triggers your body’s natural wound healing cascade. The micro-injuries created by Dermapen4™ stimulate the production of collagen and elastin—key proteins involved in tissue repair and skin structure. This helps remodel scar tissue and improve the appearance, depth, and texture of scars or stretch marks over time.

Straight after a Dermapen treatment, you may notice your skin is plump and glowing – but also a little pink (similar to windburn or sunburn). This will disappear after a day or two.

Your clinician will apply a protective cooling lotion directly after the treatments, which will reduce the redness as well as providing a bit of coverage and sun protection. Your skin may also feel a little dry a few days afterwards, after which it will become smooth and radiant within a week.
